Topic: “FTTH in the Netherlands, from Trials to Professional Large Scale Roll-out”

Abstract
The presentation will cover the TKH Group’s FTTH experience in 4 stages. From small pilots to the large scale roll out of FTTH networks in The Netherlands, Germany and the Nordic countries. It will cover the highlights, network configurations and lessons learned.

The second part of the presentation will address the choice of the passive infrastructure architecture in relation to the active infrastructure (PON or P2P).

The last part of the presentation will give a view on the need for certification and warranty on passive infrastructures for FTTH networks.

Speaker Biography
Jan van Kemenade is Product Manager ACE FTTH solutions for TKF (Twentsche Kabel Fabriek), a full subsidiary of TKH Group in the Netherlands. TKF sister company of TFO (Twentsche (Nanjing) Fibre Optics).

Mr. van Kemenade has 18 years experience in fibre technology in several functions, such as market development and product management.

He is an active member of the European FTTH council infrastructure group and speaker on the 2007 FTTH council conference and the 2007 FTTx summit in Munich.

Mr. van Kemenade was closely involved in the large scale roll out of FTTH in the Netherlands, Germany and the Nordics.<back>
