Abstract
As “Copper-out, Optical-in” being recognized by
the industry, as well as more bandwidth being
required, FTTx has been the most reasonable
approach to address those requirements. In this
talk, we will share Corning experience on FTTx
and review three critical areas concerned by
world leading service providers. With various
network architectures, emerging challenges and
requirements for fiber, cable,
hardware/equipment will be reviewed. FTTx
planners and designers must pay attention and
overcome these in term of FTTx investment and
deployment. We will review product solutions for
FTTx networks allow service providers to deploy
their systems with faster, easier, and more
reliable than ever before. Speaker Biography
Tidd Zhang, Market Development Director, Corning
Telecommunications (Greater China)
Tidd Zhang, Director of Market Development &
Engineering, locating in Shanghai, in charge of
Corning Telecommunication product solutions
marketing promotion in Great China. He is
responsible for developing new end user
customers, system house customers as well as
promoting Corning Telecommunication product
solutions value proposition.
Tidd has been with Corning since July 1999.
Prior to this, he worked for Shanghai R&D Center
for Fiber Optical Tec. as a project manager
focus on fiber optics and optical/electronic
signal processing. Tidd holds
a Master of Science in photoelectron and an
