Abstract
IP transformation trend is already very clear, it asks for optical transport network changes from TDM oriented to Packet oriented, PTN (Packet Transport Network) become a main technology for optical transport network. The target of PTN is to establish a carrier grade Ethernet network for more and more traffic based on packet. TMPLS is a main selection to build PTN.

Speaker Biography
Sang Xulei, Vice President of Alcatel Shanghai Bell Optical Network Division, is now responsible for all business operation and management in China market.

He graduated from Shanghai Jiao tong University in 1996 and gain dual degree of Telecommunication and International finance.

He started his career as a marketing and technical support engineer in Lucent and then he joined Transmission Division of ACI in 1998. During 1999 to 2001, he worked in Alcatel Italy and support domestic market. In 2000, he participated in the network strategy team of Alcatel Optical Network Division, Europe. He is deeply involved in the research of optical network architecture, protection and restoration technology and new generation optical network. He joined in Alcatel shanghai bell 2002 from a deputy director of technical support to a Chief Operation Officer of business exploration with his great effort.<back>
